Two Not Touch solution today

Every daily Two Not Touch puzzle we publish comes with a full worked solution — each star placed in the order the logic forces it, so you can see exactly where your grid went wrong. Below: the latest answers, and the method that means you won't need to look one up again.

The latest Two Not Touch answers

Today's boards are still live and timed, so their answers unlock tomorrow morning. Here are the most recent released days — each link steps through the whole solve.

Older days are kept too — browse the solutions index.

The rule, in one line

Place two stars in every row, column, and outlined region, and never let two stars touch — not even diagonally. That single "no touching" rule is what makes the whole puzzle solvable without guessing. New to it? Start with the full rules.

How to find the answer, step by step

  1. Mark the impossible cells. Around any star, all eight neighbours are blocked. Cross them out as you go.
  2. Watch completed lines. Once a row, column, or region has its two stars, every other cell in it is blocked.
  3. Find the forced stars. When a row, column, or region has exactly two open cells left, both must hold stars.
  4. Let it cascade. Each new star creates new blocks, which force new stars. Repeat until the grid is full.

That's the core method, and harder boards add some counting. Want the deeper moves? Learn the elimination technique and region confinement, or work through the whole strategy guide.

Checking your own Two Not Touch answer

You don't need our grid to know whether yours is right. A finished Two Not Touch has exactly two stars in every row, every column, and every outlined region, and no two stars adjacent in any direction — sideways, up and down, or corner to corner. Run those three counts, then sweep for touching pairs. If all four checks pass, you've got it: every Two Not Touch puzzle has exactly one solution, so there is no second valid answer to second-guess.

Solving on this site, you can skip the checking entirely — the board validates itself the moment the last star lands, and if you'd rather see the reasoning than the finished grid, every daily puzzle's step-by-step walkthrough replays the solve one deduction at a time.

Looking for a puzzle printed somewhere else?

If your grid came from a newspaper or an app, its answer key belongs to whoever published it — we can't reprint someone else's puzzle or its solution. The method above works on any Two Not Touch board, whoever set it, and the walkthroughs here show it running on real grids. If you want the exact 10×10 shape most papers print, our 10×10 boards match it.

TryHard Puzzles isn't affiliated with any newspaper or puzzle app. Two Not Touch is also known as Star Battle; the puzzles here are our own.

Two Not Touch answer FAQ

Where do I find the Two Not Touch solution for today?

Here, from tomorrow morning — today's boards are still live and timed, so their solutions unlock the following morning. Every daily Two Not Touch board we publish gets a complete, animated walkthrough that places each star in the order the logic forces it, and the most recent released day is always listed above.

How do I work out a Two Not Touch answer myself?

By elimination, never by guessing. Place two stars in every row, column, and outlined region so that no two stars touch — even diagonally. Mark the cells that cannot hold a star, and the remaining cells reveal where the stars must go. The step-by-step method on this page cracks any grid.

How do I check if my Two Not Touch answer is correct?

A correct grid has exactly two stars in every row, every column, and every outlined region, with no two stars touching in any direction — including corner to corner. If all three counts hold and nothing touches, the answer is right; Two Not Touch puzzles have exactly one solution, so there is no second valid grid to worry about.

What does "two not touch" mean?

It is the puzzle's rules said out loud. "Two" means two stars in every row, column, and region; "not touch" means no two stars may sit in adjacent cells, including diagonally. Competition solvers call the same puzzle Star Battle.

Is there a Two Not Touch answer key I can look up?

For our puzzles you do not need one — each board has a worked walkthrough you can step through, which is more useful than a finished grid because it shows why each star goes where it does. For a puzzle printed elsewhere, the answer key belongs to whoever published it.
